Liftmaster garage door opener parts

Liftmaster has a large line of residential openers. They tend to be very reliable when comparing them with other garage door openers, although everything does seam to wear out over time. The lift master parts listed here are the ones that break most often.

Liftmaster Parts                                                                   liftmaster-garage-door-opener-parts

Step 1: unplug your garage door opener!! Now remove the motor housing using a 1/4" nut driver or equivalent. Remove the plastic pin from the small gear on the bottom of the assembly. remove the small gear sliding it downward. unscrew the two screws holding up the back cover and circuit board assembly.(for extra working room) unplug parallel plug from circuit board.

Step 2: loosen 1/2" nut on chain just enough to allow for it to dismount from sprocket. loosen chain and rest it on the opener rail assembly out of your way. With a 5/16" nut driver remove the two screws that you can gain access to. with a ratcheting box wrench or open end remove the third 5/16" screw. You can now safely remove the gear assembly.

Step 2: Install the new trolley in the same manner you took the old one off, making sure that its in the right direction. feed the cord through the hole and tie a knot on the end. re-tighen 1/2" bolt on wall mount. assembly.

Step 3: Before inserting the new parts be sure to first prime the difficult to reach hole by inserting a screw then taking it out. (this will make it much easier once you have no space to work with and you start the screw with your fingers) Insert the assembly being mindful of matching your newly threaded holes alignment in the housing. he new trolley in the same manner you took the old one then install all screws. Plug in parallel wire. Install small gear and plastic pin... Use lithium grease on the new plastic gears. Tighten chain...(not to tight, chain should sag a little) If you changed the position of the chain you will have to reset your up and down limits so it would be helpful to mark the position with chalk if your not confident with setting the limits.

Note: when purchasing your liftmaster parts be sure you have the correct one for instance the assembly listed above comes in 3 forms two are for belt drive openers.
