What is a garage door reset?

A garage door reset is an operation performed by a door technician to correct a misaligned door or in other words a door that is off the track. A door is misaligned one of its cables are either off of the drum completely or one of the cables has more slack then the other. Some times if one of your cables break this can occour as well, but this is rare especially if they are a set of heavy-duty air craft cables.

How Do I Reset | Realign My Garage Door?

Safety First

If your door is in the fully up position you must follow this first to get the door down safely.

1. On the side of the garage that has a cable off the drum you must safetly respool the cable.

1. With a set of torsion bars  lock your torsion system from rotating by inserting one into a hole on one of the end cone such that you can rotate up aprox. 1/4 turn and stick the other bar in. This will effectivly allow you to rest the second bar against the strut or back of the garage door. At this point if
